One Week.

So, here I am sitting in my room on a Friday night thinking about the fact  that summer is coming to an end. I can't believe that I have one week until classes start. It's like just when you get rolling on some of the items you placed on the Annual Bucket List of Summer Fun (come on, I know you have one!) you realize you have one week. One week to travel to all 50 states, read Jane Eyre start to finish, create a blog (TA-DAAA) and become the proud owner of the perfect chocolate chip cookie recipe. I mean seriously- the pressure! I am the kind of person who needs rapidly approaching deadlines in order to get anything done. It's like the more time I have on my hands the less my hands do. WHY HANDS, WHY?!

As I was loading pictures onto my computer I had one of those moments, the type of moment that feels like there is a visible lightbulb above my head as God smiles and says, "What took you so long?" As I see some of these pictures, (which I listed below) I realize how much I have grown this summer and how many wonderful things have happened around me. Sure there have been times of sadness, times of anger, times of sheer joy, and beautiful memories. I was able to spend a week at the Lake with Mitch's family, stepping out of the monotony of every day life and spend some time "unplugged." Allowing me to really pay attention to what is around me. A new baby was born(!), and some new babies are on their way. (Is there anything better than a new baby, I ask?) I was able to nanny for two boys for the second summer in a row and I made some improvements efforts in my whiffle ball abilities. As well as watching the youngest one learn to read. Which, let's be honest has to be one of the coolest experiences-it's like seeing a whole world open up in front of their eyes. I got to spend some time with friends one of life's greatest gifts, enjoying their company and making memories- eating (duh) and staying up way too late. I got to live at home and spend time with my family watching Netflix, and laughing together. And! I finished the year long study of Women in the Bible and have been so encouraged by what I've read.

All this to say, last week of summer- I'm so ready for you.
